Definition of basic component: The unique identification of a document.

Message-specific definition: Unique identifier for the Originating Message

Usage rule: The unique identification of a document or another component, by a combination of the unique document identifier assigned by its creator and the unique identification of that document creator (GLN and optionally, an additional identifier). The combination of those two components assures a unique identification of each single entity.
