| Definition of basic component: |
N/A |
|
| Message-specific definition: |
An attribute that classifies GTINs that share many of the same characteristics (attribute values) that does NOT vary by GTIN, and are presented by the supplier as a single merchandise selection for the buyer |
|
| Usage example: |
A 100% cotton shirt that has the same buttons, collar type, sleeve length and fabric that comes in several colours and sizes. Style/Model level attributes would include material (100% cotton) and packaging attributes. Rather than specifying this 100 times for a shirt that comes in 10 sizes and colours, it could be specified once. GTIN attributes would include colour and size |
|
| Usage rule: |
1. Attributes that do not vary by GTIN are packaging (consumer, inner and master packs), material, warranty, and country of origin. 2. In the Apparel and Home Fashion sectors, style is commonly referred to as a Style/Model. 3. Style may be defined by a manufacturer through a style description or by a combination of other related elements, depending on the product type. 4. The Brand Owner assigns the styleDescription. |
