Dean Foods’ fresh take on preparing for GDSN Major Release 3

Dean Foods’ approach to migrationSee how Dean Foods prepared for a successful transition to GDSN Major Release 3. Especially how the company planned carefully and started early.

Dean Foods, one of the nation's leading food and beverage companies, produces a full line of dairy and soy products. In fulfilling its mission to satisfy customers, it plays multiple roles in the supply chain - from owner, processor and distributor to licensee as it sells products and shares product information across multiple industries including retail, foodservice, healthcare and government.

Dean Foods relies on the Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDSN) Standard and data pool partner LANSA to help it effectively complete its mission across all the different groups and roles it serves.

With such complex responsibilities, Dean Foods understood that preparing for a successful transition to GDSN Major Release 3 could not be taken lightly, nor at the last minute. The company planned carefully and started early. By November 30, 2015, general preparations for the internal infrastructure to support Major Release 3 will be in place.

The company will continue to use the time before the rollout to adequately test and verify systems and operations with their trading partners to ensure success.
