New Call to Action

GSMP B2C Trusted Source of Data (TSD) Mission Specific Working Group (MSWG)

Business Purpose:    This group will develop the standards and guideline necessary to implement GS1 B2C Trusted Source of Data for all stakeholders.  Digital Information about consumer products is frequently missing or inaccurate. With these standards and guideline we can provide a global framework to communicate basic and nutritional product information from brand owners to internet application providers and consumers via internet devices (e.g. smart phones, tablets, laptops, etc.).

Expertise Needed:   Members should be experts who represent trading partners from both sides of the trading relationship, third parties, and solution providers to have proper representation on the WG/BRG. The intent is to have balanced membership from all regions of the world to ensure the output is truly global.

The GSMP B2C Trusted Source of Data MSWG will also, where appropriate, consult with and seek advice from the experts in the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) and Federated Object Name Service (FONS) Groups. .

Global Data Synchronisation Network (GDS) Standards Maintenance Group (SMG) eBallots

Business Purpose:    In order to support retailers to identify private label products. We have found a business example when looking at brand owner for retailer GLN is not sufficient. We have found wholesalers create private label for a buying group of retailers. This is a private label product made for a group of retailers. In addition, the definition of Restricted Distribution for Brand distribution type is not clear to specify the actual difference between private label and a restricted supplier product. To address this we need to change definition of Brand Distribution Type - Any restrictions imposed on the Trade Item on how it can be sold to the consumer or recipient trading partner.

Change Existing Codes:

RESTRICTED _DISTRIBUTION
The Data Source has restrictions on where, how and/or to whom the product may be sold. The brand label is NOT owned by the trading partner recipient or purchasing group
UNRESTRICTED _DISTRIBUTIONThe Data Recipient has the permission to sell the Trade Item as per their trading partner agreement.  The brand label is NOT owned by the trading partner recipient or purchasing group

Add Code Value:

PRIVATE_LABEL_DISTRIBUTION - a product that is produced strictly for a trading partner or a purchasing group. The brand label is owned by the recipient trading partner or purchasing group.  Simple LOI 1 & 2

Business Purpose:   Books and Publications restructure class

A.    Today in Contributor there are 2 attributes Alternative Name and Alternative Name Type. Both are repeating attributes yet the Type is describing the name so today we can have Alternative Name Stephan King, Richard Bachmann, Mr XYZ Alternative Name Type 00-Unspecified, 04-Real Name, 01-Pseodonym This should be structured properly to associate name to type

B.    In Contributor attributes From Language and To Language are both repeating. Therefore there is no way to determine what is translation has occurred.

Today

From Language = English, Spanish

To Language= Spanish, French

So was the translation English to Spanish, Spanish to French, English to French?
Proposal - create a new repeating sub-class 0..* Change From Language in new sub-class to be Mandatory non repeating, and To Language mandatory repeating

Business Purpose:  For the attribute „Additional Classification Agency Name" an additional Agency Name plus Code is necessary. The current code list doesn't contain a special agency code/ name which is need for especially small and medium sized textile retailers in Germany. They are organized in the Bundesverband des Deutschen Textileinzelhandels e.V. (BTE e.V.) and many of them used a special clearing center to receive their master data, sales reports, despatch advices and other important messages. Main criteria to cluster their master data are the so called "BTE-classification". This classification should be synchronized also via GDSN. This can be done as an additional classification, but currently a needed code isn´t available in GDSN.

Therefore the following "Additional Classification Agency Name" should be part of the internal code list:  BTE - Bundesverband des Deutschen Textileinzelhandels a German Association of Textile Retailer. The product classification can be found on their website http://www.bte.de . Simple LOI 1

Business Purpose:   Add 4 new validation rules 524 & 594 to GDS standard. This WR includes 43 VRs which will be reviewed and go to Community Review in Rounds as they are deemed valid. Simple LOI 2

Business Purpose: For EU regulation EEC 834/2007, that the actual % of organic product in processed foods must be stated between 95-99%. The quality of the organic product is based upon the % of Organic product by weight. While the Organic Trade Item Code 2 stands for greater than 95%, we need the actual percent. Therefore we request a new attribute be added optional and not repeating - OrganicTradeItemPercentClaim - Definition: the amount of actual organic materials by weight in the trade item. This is usually claimed on the product. We need an AVP also. NOTE: This CR will need to be harmonized with the solutions that come out of both the Level Below the Each MSWG and the Components MSWG when dealing with Foods and Ingredients.  Eric Kauz confirmed that during the Major Release this will be re-designed. Business Purpose:  Change Definition of UoM Board Foot to be more accurate.  The current definition  refers to a Cord of Firewood.  This is inaccurate.  Board Foot (BF) is defined as:   A specialized unit of measure for the volume of rough lumber (before drying and planing with no adjustments) or planed/surfaced lumber. It is the volume of a one-foot length of a board one foot wide and one inch thick.  Some countries utilize the synonym super foot or superficial foot.  NOTE: Jean-Luc Champion, the GS1 Rep to UN/CEFACT, will be asked to present this definition for Board Foot (CR 11-270) as a change to the UoM list in UN/CEFACT Recommendation 20.
