About the GS1 GDSN Data Quality Challenge
The Data Quality Challenge
The “Data Quality Challenge” (DQC) was launched in April 2008 and aimed to increase adoption of the Data Quality Framework, gather feedback for its improvement, and most importantly, create success stories.
Trading partners in various countries have collaborated through the DQC to identify key areas within their relationship that can become improved through the implementation of data quality principles from the Data Quality Framework.
The DQC was based on the GS1 Data Quality Framework’s self-assessment procedure. This self-assessment enables organisations to assess their compliance by positioning their current status in comparison to best practices. It also reveals important opportunities that can be further exploited by trading partners to enhance their processes for data management and data quality.
Based on the experiences of the DQC participants, a new version of the Data Quality Framework has been developed that increases its applicability in real life processes for data quality management.
