GS1 Intellectual Property (IP)
This form expresses the commitment that the necessary IP contained in any given standard will be licensed royalty-free to other GS1 members for that standard. It covers companies and must be signed by an officer of the company representing the headquarters.
GS1 to EPCglobal Acknowledgement Form
This form is for companies that have already signed the GS1 IP Policy. This form will transfer administration of the GS1 IP Policy to the EPCglobal IP Policy. This form will allow current GS1 group members to participate in EPCglobal, Explicit Opt-in are required.
EPCglobal Acknowledgement Form (EPCglobal to GS1)
This form is for companies that have already signed the EPCglobal IP Policy and Opt-In Agreements. This form will transfer administration of the EPCglobal IP Policy and Opt-In Agreements to GS1, Aisbl. This form will allow current EPCglobal group members to participate in the new GSMP standards process. Note: Additionally, to participate in new GSMP Groups either the Automatic Opt-in or Explicit Opt-in are required.
EPCglobal to GS1 MobileCom Acknowledgement Form
This form is for companies that have already signed the EPCglobal IP Policy. This form will transfer administration of the EPCglobal IP Policy to GS1 MobileCom. This form will allow current EPCglobal group members to participate in the GSMP Multiple BarCodes Work Group (WG), the Explicit Opt-in is required.
MobileCom Acknowledgement Form (MobileCom to GS1)
This form is for companies that have already signed the GS1 MobileCom IP Policy and Opt-In Agreement. This form will transfer administration of the GS1 MobileCom IP Policy and Opt-In Agreement to GS1, Aisbl. This form will allow current Multiple Barcodes Group members to participate in the new GSMP standards process. Note: Additionally, to participate in new GSMP Groups either the Automatic Opt-in or Explicit Opt-in are required.
Automatic Opt-In to all Working Groups
This form allows a company to participate as a member in all current and future GSMP groups. Designated company representatives have access to work-in-progress and can participate in all group meetings. It covers companies and their representatives and must be signed by an officer of the company. The Automatic Opt-In applies to all GSMP groups formed after 19 April 2010.
Explicit Opt-In to a Specific Working Group - Example Only
This form allows a company to participate as a member in a specific GSMP group. Designated company representatives have access to work-in-progress and can participate in the group’s meetings. It covers companies and their representatives and must be signed by an officer of the company.

Automatic Opt-Out from all Working Groups
This form cancels all automatic Opt-In agreements going forward for any organization that no longer wishes to participate in the development of GS1 standards. IP obligations do continue even after a company opts-out of work groups. It covers companies and their representatives and must be signed by an officer of the company.
Explicit Opt-Out from Specific Working Groups
This form cancels specific Opt-In agreements going forward for any organization that no longer wishes to participate in a specific GSMP group. IP obligations do continue even after a company opts-out of a group. It covers companies and their representatives and must be signed by an officer of the company.
IP Contribution Form
This form is for participants wishing to make an overt royalty-free contribution of IP to a GSMP Working Group. Organizations not opted-into a Working Group may also utilize this form. It covers a company’s specific IP contribution in question and must be signed by an officer of the company.
IP Declaration Form
This form provides the opportunity for a company to submit a declaration and request Reasonable and Non Discriminatory (RAND) licensing terms on necessary IP contained in the specification at issue for necessary IP that it does not wish to license royalty-free. There are 2 IP review periods during standards development, prior to standard ratification. It covers a company’s specific IP in issue and must be signed by an officer of the company.
Invited Expert Form
This form is used to include a non-Working Group member/consultant/subject matter expert into a group meeting. This form is used for a single meeting and not in lieu of a group opt-in.
Invited Government Agency Representative Contribution Declaration
This form is used to include a non-Working Group member/consultant/subject matter expert into a group meeting. This form is used for a single meeting and not in lieu of a group opt-in.
