Chris ADCOCK

Chris Adcock is President of EPCglobal Inc, the global organisation leading the drive to create common standards for the use of the Electronic Product Code (EPC) and the EPCglobal Network. EPCglobal is a user driven organization, working across multiple industries and contributes to the broad scale adoption of EPCglobal standards for organizations throughout the world. Mr Adcock has a proven track record of leadership within the Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry. He has held a series of senior management positions in Europe for The Gillette Company, a global market leader in several consumer product categories. His most recent position was as General Manager of the Nordic Region for The Gillette Company. A native of the United Kingdom, Mr Adcock's career to date has included extensive experience in international markets, working within Europe, East Africa and the Middle East. He has successfully developed and implemented strategies aimed at growing market share, reducing costs and improving ways to serve customers. Since September 2004 Mr Adcock has led the global activities of EPCglobal during a period of rapid development and international expansion as companies around the world have worked to take advantage of this exciting and new enabling technology.

Between 2001 and 2004 he held the position of Chairman of the AIM Trade and Industry Committee (AIM is the association of branded goods manufacturers in Europe). Mr Adcock holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Cranfield University in the United Kingdom.

Etienne BOONET

From January 1971 till October 1973: Assistant to the Direction of the Belgian Association of Manufacturers of Branded Goods "IMARCO" in Brussels. He became Director of this Association in November 1973, a function he exercised till June 1983.He has been associated with the development of Article Numbering since the first work in this field (1973). He was Secretary General of EAN International from 1977 till 1991.

In February 1977 he likewise became Manager of ICOF, the manufacturers' branch of the Belgian EAN Numbering Organisation. In June 1991 he was appointed CEO of the overall Numbering Organisation GS1 Belgium & Luxembourg.He is member of several International and Belgian standardisation organisations like ISO, ISO/IEC JTC1, CEN and EBES (European Board for EDIFACT Standardisation).

At the first ISO/IEC JTC1/SC 31 meeting held in Brussels 17/20 June 1996 he was appointed convenor of the Ad Hoc Group on Data Structure. Later on he was convenor of the WG 2 Data Structure from 1997 till 2004. From January 1999 till 2005 the Belgian Minister of Foreign Trade appointed him Vice-chairman of SIPROCOM, the Belgian trade facilitation body.

He was member of the Board of EAN International from May 1999 till May 2002. He is member of the Executive Committee of GS1 Europe since 2005.

From 18 September 1975 till 31 December 1982 he was town councillor of Deurne. From 6 January 1977 till 31 December 1982 he was Alderman of Finance and Budget of Deurne.

From I January 1983 tot 10 January 1994 he was alderman of Finance and Budget of Antwerp.

Eva Maria BURIAN-BRAUNSTORFER

Eva Maria Burian-Braunstorfer's life motto “panta rhei” has been the right choice ever since establishing GS1 Austria (former EAN Austria).

Eva is CEO of the GS1 company in Austria and has been founding member of EAN International in 1977. Since then GS1 - EAN - has spread all over the world, a truly global business by now in 2006.

By keeping up values like culture and history, and the believe in human relations, Eva has given GS1 Austria a leading role in harmonization and standardization of the Supply Chain Management in the consumer industry - from Waste Management over Standardization of Consumer Goods to Healthcare.

Convinced that empathy and appreciation can create high potential values, GS1 Austria provided shelter for ECR Austria. Highly motivated colleagues, board members, staff and customers are dynamically driving our business.

After finishing commercial high school in Vienna, Eva collected her first business experiences in her parent's company - here is where her spirit of enterprise was awakened. She received several certifications, eg. from the German Engineering Society, the State University San Diego and the Cambridge Proficiency Certificate .

Developed in the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, GS1 Austria under her leadership has become an independent legal entity in 1988.

Music, literature, philosophy, history, art history, languages, networking (e.g. Soroptimists), children and youth topics are the favourites among her private interests.

David CALLEJA-URRY

David Calleja-Urry is the Chairman of GS1 Malta and the Regional co-ordinator of the Middle East, Mediterranean and African (MEMA) GDSN Data Pool.

David has Diplomas in Business Management from both the UK and Malta. He has diverse commercial experience, having worked for 5 years in Commercial Banking, 10 years in the Engineering Industry and 15 years in Retailing, Import and Distribution. In the latter role, David was responsible for global brands such as L'Oreal, Kraft, Kinder, Kodak, Maxwell House, Danone and Martini. David has occupied management positions in Sales, Marketing and Administration as well as operating as a General Manager and Chairman.

David has international experience of working in Malta, UK, Libya, Saudi Arabia and Slovakia.

Ross CURTIS

Mr.Curtis joined Global eXchange Services (GXS) after serving as Executive Vice President for Worldwide Sales at BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting), a position he has held since February 2000. Prior to that position, Mr.Curtis was Managing Partner in charge of Sales at KPMG from 1997 until February 2000.

He joined KPMG in June 1996 as Director Business Development, and was elected Partner in 1997. From 1993 to 1996, Mr. Curtis served as Vice President of Worldwide Field Sales Operations for Mergent International, a company providing security software for PCs. Prior to this, he spent three years working for Oracle holding the positions of Group Director for Strategic Alliances, Group Sales Director for the utility vertical, and Regional Sales Manager. From 1983 to 1988, Mr. Curtis worked for Applied Data Research (ADR) progressing from Account Manager to Area Sales Vice President.

Mr. Curtis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Franklin & Marshall College.

Bertrand de SENNEVILLE

After having been external auditor in an American consulting firm, Bertrand de Senneville had integrated L'Oreal in 1982 at the internal audit department. Then he became financial and administrative director of one of the group factories. Afterwards he joined the commercial business where he was the administrative and financial director for different subsidiaries in France and abroad. After he was nominated processes CEO in the European area of the consumerdivision.Since 2004, he is the administration and processes CEO for the whole group.

Vicente ESCRIBANO

Vicente Escribano is the new Chief Operating Officer of GS1, appointed as of 24th April 2006.

April 2006. Mr Escribano, a Spanish national, brings to the GS1 organisation a wealth of deep supply chain experience, from procurement and manufacturing to logistics , gained in top FMCG and service companies like Procter and Gamble, Benckiser, Chep and Pepsico. He spent 17 years working for P&G in Spain, USA, Puerto Rico and the UK, in a variety of positions, becoming London Plant Manager in 1989 and later European Beauty Care Director in 1992. He joined Benckiser in 1994 as VP Operations Iberia, leading a turnaround in performance there. In 2000, he changed sector becoming European VP Operations for Chep, a key player in the execution of major efficiency supply chain initiatives in Europe. The last part of his career has been as Iberia Supply Chain Director for Pepsico, where he lead a major initiative to implement a new supply chain model for the snacks business.

Mr. Escribano is a results oriented natural leader, having excelled in turning around organisations and achieving major performance improvements in all of his assignments. He has worked in very early projects of collaboration between Manufacturers and Retailers, like automatic replenishment between P&G and Tesco (UK, 1991) or pilot ECR projects between Benckiser and key retailers in Spain (1996).

Vicente has a Chemical Engineering degree (University of Valencia). He speaks fluent English and French and conversational Italian, apart from his mother Spanish and Catalan tongues. He is married to Amor, a Spanish paediatrician and has no children.

Rafael FLOREZ

Graduate of the Universidad Externado de Colombia in business administration. Specialization in computer science administration at the Cesem (Madrid, Spain). Wide ranging experience in diverse fields: Five years in the banking sector in the fields of accounting and marketing. Eight years at Fenalco Nacional as Administrative Vice President. Two years as President of the Executive Council of IAC Colombia. Executive Director of the Instituto Colombiano de Codificación y Automatización Comercial (Colombian institute for Coding and Commercial Automation), IAC Colombia, since August 1, 1990. Member of GS1 Management Board during 1998 to 2004.

Alvaro FUSETTI

Mr. Alvaro Fusetti, started his professional career at Burroughs Corporation research centre, in Detroit, working on the development of Operative System SW. In 1974, he joined ACNielsen where he held a series of senior management positions becoming, in 1988, Senior Vice President of European Operations.

In 1993 he was promoted CEO of ACNielsen IBERIA and one year later he was appointed CEO of ACNielsen South Europe, driving the region towards the best operational and financial results of the Corporation.

In 2001, he drove, as CEO, NETESI, an Application Service Provider start up company, reaching rapidly the full operational capabilities Since 2004 he is the CEO of GS1 Italy.

Mr Alvaro Fusetti has a degree of Physics, is 57 years old, married with Alessandra and he has 4 children.

Austin GATT

Dr. Austin Gatt was born on 29th July 1953 and received his education at the Lyceum and the University of Malta. He read Law and graduated as a Doctor of Laws in 1975. Dr. Gatt practiced law as a partner with one of the oldest law firms on the island.In 180 the Nationalist Party entrusted Dr. Gatt, with building a party organization to eliminate the possibility of electoral fraud in the 1981 general elections', this problem having been prevalent in the previous General elections. In 1981 elections the Nationalist Party polled 51% of the votes. Dr. Gatt's contribution to the Nationalist Party continued when he was appointed as Chairman of the Management Board of Independence Print Company Limited. The company incorporated all the commercial activities of the Nationalist Party. Dr. Gatt was also the head of the Legal Office of the Party, representing the party in a number of constitutional cases. In 1987 he again led the organization of the Party to monitor electoral fraud and eventually became Chairman of the Board of Directors of Independence Company Limited and Euro Tours Company Limited.

After the Nationalist Party was elected to Government in 1987, Dr. Gatt was elected Secretary General of the Party on 5th February 1988. This meant that Dr. Gatt became responsible for the overall organization of the Party and for the implementation of policies approved by the Executive Committee and the Administrative Council of the Party. Dr. Gatt spearheaded a complete reorganization of the Party's political, administrative and commercial structures and was responsible for preparing and ensuring the implementation of all plans for the General Elections of 1992 and 1996. Dr. Gatt contested the general elections for the first time in 1996 and was elected from the First District.

Between 1996 and 1998 he was Party spokesman for Justice, Local Councils and Housing and was entrusted by the Nationalist Party to set up the Party's television station. Following the Nationalist Party victory at the General Elections of September 1998, Dr. Austin Gatt was appointed Parliamentary Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister, and six months later, Minister for Justice and Local Government. Dr. Austin Gatt, embarked on various ambitious tasks in all areas within his portfolio. Amongst these there are the creation of an information economy and society in Malta, the introduction of e-Government, a major administrative reform in the law courts, and the transformation of Local Government Authorities.

Dr. Austin Gatt was re-elected to Parliament in 2003, from the First District. He was appointed as a Minister for IT & Investment, responsible for the creation of the Information Society and Economy, ICT in Government, AirMalta plc, Gozo Channel Co. Ltd, Sea Malta Co. Ltd., Maltacom plc, Malta International Airport plc, Enemalta Corporation, Water Services Corporation, Malta Freeport Corporation, Public Broadcasting Services Limited, Malta Drydocks Corporation and Malta Investment Management Co. Ltd. In March 2004, following a cabinet reshuffle, Dr Gatt was once again entrusted with the portfolio of Minister for Information Technology and Investment. Dr. Austin Gatt is married to Marisa nee' Zammit Maempel, and has two sons, Gege (24) and Paul (11)

Pierre GEORGET

Aged 50, Pierre Georget has a great deal of experience in retail distribution. He joined the EAN France team 19 years ago, where his responsibilities have continually increased over the years.

A university graduate, Pierre Georget has a master in Economics Science (Paris X) - specialising in Econometrics - as well a degree in philosophy and a law degree. As Technical Director from 1995 to 2000, he had responsibility for standards for electronic exchanges and AIDC, he was in charge of the French EDI Value AddedNetwork, Allegro. He initiated the national network of electronic catalogues,GDSnet.fr and the global repository GEPIR. He was appointed CEO in 2004.He held several responsibilities within major standard organisations both atnational and international level. At the United Nations, he was Chairman of the Edifact Working Group (UN/CEFACT/EWG). In France he was chairman of the standardisation committee for EDI and XML (EDIFRANCE), and of the standardisation committee for AIDC (including RFID). He is a member of the COS TIC , strategic committee for information and communication technology at the French standardisation body - AFNOR.

He is a member of the GS1 GDSN Board of Director and of the GS1 Advisory Committee.

Ray GRECH

Mr. Grech is General Manager Marketing for Simonds Farsons Cisk plc, (one of Malta's leading companies representing various international brands such as Carlsberg, Budweiser, and Pepsi, amongst others). He is a founder member of GS1 Malta, and has been active and consistently present on the Board of Directors for the past 14 years. Mr Grech's role at Farsons' is to market the company's brands in the local and international markets and to promote the development of its products in the food and beverage sector. The systems, services and solutions of GS1 are crucial to meet this sector's needs to address the logistical and market-driven changes faced by this growing sector.

Sally HERBERT

Sally Herbert is President of GS1 GDSN, Inc., the organization driving the Global Data Synchronization Network and the Global Registry. She joined GS1 in March 2005, with the commercial and operational charters for leading, and executing upon, the defined direction of the GDSN Roadmap. Sally also has responsibility for the Global Product Classification (GPC). Sally has a demonstrated track record of balancing technology development, customer service and marketing within U.S. and international markets. She has successfully formulated strategies for business growth, cost reduction, and serving the needs of a global, varied retail and manufacturing customer base.

Before joining GS1, Sally held the post of Chief Operating Officer for the WorldWide Retail Exchange (now Agentrics). She joined the Exchange in November 2001, and had global responsibility for the consistent delivery of products and services to the members of the Exchange. In addition to managing the development of technology, she facilitated member relationships from sales to product implementation and ongoing support through the application of value-added services. Sally also held leadership positions with IBM, MCI Worldcom and the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

Hongliang KONG

Hongliang Kong, Ph.D., Senior engineer, EPC manager of Article Numbering Center of China (ANCC, GS1 China), working on EPC, AIDC, Logistics, supply chain and so on, took part in the books' writing including “EPC and the Internet of Things” and “EPC Basic Technology Textbook”, having published more than 20 papers in periodicals, etc. He has taken a lot of national important research project such as “Logistic delivery system and key standards research”, “The traceability research of food supply chain ”, “The research of EPC standard system in China”, “The research of EPC standard system & key standards ”, etc.

William L. McCOMB

William L. McComb is a company group chairman of Johnson & Johnson, responsible for the DePuy business. He has responsibility for the global DePuy Orthopaedics, DePuy Spine, DePuy Trauma, Codman and Mitek businesses. Mr. McComb also serves as a member of the Medical Devices & Diagnostics Group Operating Committee. He assumed this position in April, 2005.

Mr. McComb began his career with Johnson & Johnson in 1992 as an assistant product director for Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company. He advanced through various marketing assignments and joined Johnson & JohnsonoMerck in 1995 as group product director. Mr. McComb was named vice president, marketing, McNeil Consumer Products Company in 1999. In July 2001, he was named president of McNeil Consumer Healthcare, assuming additional responsibilities as president of McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals and Ortho Women's Health & Urology in July 2004. He held this position until being named to his present assignment.

Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson, Mr. McComb worked at Leo Burnett advertising agency in Chicago, IL, working on advertising for The Procter & Gamble Company.

Mr. McComb currently serves on the Board of Directors for INROADS of Philadelphia. He served as Vice Chairman on the Executive Committee of ConsumerHealthcare Products Association (CHPA) and a member of the CHPA's Board ofDirectors from 2001 - April 2005.

Born in Columbia, MO, Mr. McComb earned a B.A. degree in economics from Miami University (Ohio) and a M.B.A. in marketing and finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Mr. McComb and his wife are the parents of three children.

Seung-Han LEE

Seung-Han Lee was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of SamsungTesco in 1999. Since then, he has developed a number of unique managementconcepts for Samsung: Value Store, Glocal Management, Build a Bowl ofCapabilities and Economy of Synchronization & Collaboration. Seung-Han Leejoined Samsung in 1970. From 1974 to 1990 he served in several key positionsincluding Branch Manager Samsung Corporation in London (1978), ExecutiveDirector of the Overseas Business Division (1984) and Managing Director of theDevelopment Business (1990).

In 1996, Mr Lee was named Vice President and lead different divisions includingRetail, Property Development, Construction & Engineering, Architecture &Design and SOC projects.

In 1997, he was appointed President & CEO of Samsung Corporation and assumed responsibility for the Retail Business.Mr Lee joined the GS1 Management Board in May 2004.

Miodrag MITIC

Miodrag Mitic leads a business unit responsible for the strategic and business direction of GS1 solutions, which utilise various standards and technologies to solve specific business and supply chain issues, as well as the coordination of requirements for their successful implementation across the world. His team proactively responds to business requirements from a variety of industry sectors where strategic demand and supply chain alignment is being newly implemented. Miodrag currently oversees GS1 solutions in the FMCG, Food, Retail, Logistics, Packaging, Healthcare, Chemical, Defence and other industry sectors. He is a member of expert groups convened under the auspices of the Global Commerce Initiative, CIES - the Food Business Forum, ECR Europe, ISO, United Nations, Codex Alimentarius Commission, and the European Commission. Miodrag has served on the Board of the International Federation for Produce Coding and on the EUREPGAP Council. Amongst other publications, he is the co-author and editor of GS1 Traceability Guidelines for the beef, fish, fruits & vegetables, banana and wine supply chains. He has also contributed to numerous other international standards and publications. Miodrag is recognized as an expert in Supply Chain Management, e-Business, Traceability and Quality Assurance. He is the convenor of the global GS1 Healthcare User Group (HUG) and the sponsor of the Traceability and Upstream GS1 Industry Requirements Teams. Miodrag joined GS1 (EAN International) in 1997 after multi-industry experience in international management and marketing consulting. He has studied Applied Economics and holds Master's degrees in Marketing & Advertising (from the Solvay Business School) and in International Politics (from the Université Libre de Bruxelles).

Bob NOE

Bob Noe is responsible for the business strategy, operations and implementation

of the 1SYNC subscriber community. Formed in August 2005 through the unification of UCCnet and Transora, 1SYNC is a subscriber-driven organization focused on accelerating the adoption and implementation of the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN), establishing and promoting standards and tools for global data synchronization, and providing integrated solutions that improve supply chains across industries.

Before joining Transora, Noe was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ViaLink, a major technology provider, where he helped grow the customer base to over 1,100 members, including more than a dozen Fortune 50 companies. Prior to viaLink, Bob worked at Electronic Data Systems (NYSE: EDS) for over 14 years, most recently as the vice president of industry solutions. At EDS, he developed industry-specific offerings in e-commerce, supply chain management and customer relationship management.

Bob received his B.S. in Business Administration and his Masters in business management from Central Michigan University.

Maria PALAZZOLO

Maria Palazzolo has more than twenty years' experience at GS1 Australia. As Chief Executive Officer, she has successfully positioned GS1 Australia as a change agent in a highly dynamic field. Her strength lies in her wide range of industry experience and expertise in the field of standards development.

A large part of Ms Palazzolo's role is to encourage industry leadership and collaboration to enhance supply-chain management and drive the competitiveness and profitability of Australian industry in local and international markets. Her business acumen and leadership skills are highly sought after. She is also an experienced facilitator and sits on several global committees, advisory councils and boards.

Guy PEEREBOOM

Guy Peereboom joined GS1 Global Office in October 2005 as the Chief Marketing Officer, also becoming a member of GS1's Leadership Team. A graduate from the Solvay Business School, Guy started his career in Marketing in Food and Drinks in Belgium, eventually moving to Spain and then Greece. As Managing Director of the cosmetic and detergent unit Lever-Fabergé, he was also appointed Board Member of Unilever Belgium and Vice President of several Belgian and European Trade Associations.

Over the past 9 years, he worked as a Marketing Executive in several companies and in different sectors such as industrial rubber with AES in Akron USA and Brussels, in telecommunications with Orange and Proximus in Belgium, and in fresh produce with Chiquita in Cincinnati and Antwerp. These recent experiences involved the strategic management, implementation and successful launch of several new products and services.

Jörg PRETZEL

Pretzel became CEO of GS1 Germany (formerly CCG) in 2003 and Chairman of GS1 Europe in 2005. Prior to joining GS1 Germany, Jörg Pretzel had a managing position at Herlitz PBS AG and Uvex GmbH. Between 1981 and 1996, Jörg Pretzel served as CEO for Central Europe and Vice President over Sales at A.C. Nielsen. Jörg Pretzel graduated in Business Management at the University of Munster.

Ian ROBERTSON

Ian Robertson, MBCS, CITP is EPCglobal's Global Industry Development Director and also serves as its Asia Regional Director. He has a long multi-faceted background covering IT, Supply Chain and international large scale programme management, and was formerly HP's WW Program Director of RFID, having spent the last 20 years in the HP, Compaq and DEC components of HP. He originates from the UK, but left 17 years ago to gain international experience from living and working in France, Switzerland, Holland, Germany and the USA, and specializes in taking on complex start up situations where the rules have yet to be written and in troubleshooting Supply Chains. He has written various papers on change management within large corporations and consulted for many companies in this respect. Ian created the HP RFID program from scratch and drove it's implementation into HP's supply chain in28 sites all over the globe, but particularly in Asia, where he also initiated trials and negotiations with various governments for the allocation of RFID frequencies and operating parameters. He is a graduate of the International Advanced Management Program at INSEAD, France and a Charter Member of The British Computer Society.

Hitomi SEKIKAWA

Hitomi Sekikawa has been working for GS1 Japan since its establishment in 1978 and broadly engaged in promotion of GS1 standards in Japan. For long time she and her colleagues have continued their efforts for making GS1 standards pervasive in Japan. Last March, the number of GS1 Japan's members reached 110,000, which accounts for about 10% of the total number of GS1 users in the world.

Currently she is in charge of marketing GS1 products toward frontier sectors for GS1 Japan, sporting goods industry, shoes industry and SMEs (small and medium enterprises), etc. For example, the Japanese sporting goods industry formed a working group and, with her proactive coordination, has finally succeeded in adopting GTIN-13 and ITF to their supply chain management.

Another recent example pertains to virtual sales of music and audio contents through internet. In cooperation with Apple Japan, Inc., she is promoting the use of GTIN-13 for identifying the contents on their online sales. Apple's iTunes Music Store(iTMS) service was launched last year in Japan and GS1 Japan has already assigned over 200 company prefixes and this application is expected to expand significantly from now on.

Milan Turk, Jr. is the Managing Director, Customer eCollaboration for Procter & Gamble Global Operations. He is responsible for bringing P&G's e-business initiatives together with the business building plans of P&G customers. The two projects he leads for building shopper and consumer value are data synchronization with customers through the standards-based Global Data Synchronization Network and improving supply network operations using the electronic product code (EPC). Milan has worked at P&G for over 20 years, with about half that time spent overseas where he most recently served as Commercial Director in Brazil. He serves on the GS1's GDSN INC. Board of Directors, and is a member of 1-Synch's Strategic Advisory Council.

Michel brings with him a wealth of extensive global management experience in international business activities, particularly in the Healthcare industry. His

professional career spans work and knowledge in international finance, in formation systems, human resources and turnaround management. Mr. Van der Heijden spent 20 years with Johnson & Johnson, heading local and regional CFO functions in the company's Pharmaceutical, Consumer Goods and Medical Device units. He also spent 3 years with Novartis (Pharma) in Switzerland as the global CFO for Primary Care and has lived and worked in 6 countries, namely Belgium, the Netherlands, Mexico, US, Greece, and, Switzerland.
