Why is Quality Essential for GSMP?

Process quality (the quality of any of the lifecycle processes) contributes to improving product quality, and product quality contributes to improving quality in use.

Therefore, assessing and improving the GSMP as a process is a means to improve the quality of the GSMP deliverables, GS1 Standards.

Evaluating and improving the quality of the GS1 Standards is one means of improving the quality of the implemented GS1 Standards.

The GSMP QA System

GSMP has a comprehensive QA System that consists of 3 elements:

• Documentation
• Organisation
• Management

The QA System is documented in the GSMP Manual.

The Organisation and Management of the GSMP Quality activities are key elements to assure that the documented process and procedures are applied.
