Alibaba signs a Memorandum of Understanding with GS1 Australia

Signed on Friday 6 January 2017, this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will formalise, promote and strengthen online trade between China and Australia.

Alibaba (Australia & New Zealand) teams up with GS1 Australia

This MoU is part of the global collaboration agreement signed between Alibaba Group, GS1 and GS1 China in September 2016 whereby Alibaba Group invites brand owners to adopt GS1 standards for product information management. Alibaba also recommends the use of Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) for uniquely “identifying” their products in global e-Commerce.

All users are encouraged to join the Global Data Synchronisation Network™ (GDSN®) for online exchange of product information.
