Terry von Bibra

General Manager Europe

Alibaba Group

Terry von Bibra was appointed Alibaba Group General Manager Europe in October 2016. He is also Managing Director of Alibaba Group Germany, a position he has held since November 2015.

Terry is responsible for helping businesses and consumers across key European markets access the best of the Alibaba ecosystem. and brings a wealth of experience in global Omnichannel Retail, eCommerce and Marketing to the role.

Prior to joining Alibaba, Terry was Chief Retail Officer Omnichannel for German department store chain Karstadt from 2013 to 2015. Between 2005 and 2013, he held multiple roles within Yahoo!, including Managing Director of Yahoo! Germany, Vice President of Central Europe and Vice President Marketplaces for Yahoo! EMEA. Terry previously played a pivotal role in establishing Amazon in Europe, where he led online marketing and business development for more than five years.

Professor Sue Hill OBE

Chief Scientific Officer

NHS England

Professor Sue Hill OBE PhD DSc CBiol FSB Hon FRCP Hon FRCPath is the Chief Scientific Officer for England and the head of profession for the 50,000 healthcare science workforce in the NHS and associated bodies – embracing more than 50 separate scientific specialisms. She is a respiratory scientist by background with an international academic and clinical research reputation.

Professor Hill has a broad portfolio of policy responsibilities across NHS England and the wider NHS and provides professional leadership and expert clinical advice across the whole health and care system. In particular, Sue is the Senior Responsible Officer for Genomics in NHS England has established NHS Genomic Medicine Centres and is now leading the NHS England Personalised Medicine strategy.

A significant part of her role involves working across government, with the Department of Health, with the NHS, Public Health and Health Education England and other external stakeholders to inform policy, influence legislation, deliver strategic change and to introduce new and innovative ways of working.

Sophie Andrews

Chief Executive

The Silver Line

Sophie Andrews is the Chief Executive of The Silver Line, GS1 UK’s nominated charity. The Silver Line new UK charity, launched in 2013, that aims to support older people with the effects of loneliness. More than half of all 75 year olds and above in the UK live alone and one in ten suffers “intense” loneliness but is reluctant to ask for help. The Silver Line offers a confidential, free helpline for older people across the UK to phone for information, advice or just to have a chat. GS1 UK staff have helped raised over £8,000 for the charity during the last year.

For more than 25 years Sophie has been employed in senior management positions within the private sector, the public sector and voluntary agencies. Alongside her professional career, Sophie has been a Samaritan volunteer for over 25 years and was elected as National Chair of the charity for 2008 to 2011. She was awarded Voluntary Sector Achiever of the Year at the Women in Public Life Awards in 2011, and is also a published author.

Kevin Downs

Director of Finance and Performance

Derby Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

Kevin was appointed as the Director of Finance and Performance in April 2015 and spent the previous three years at the Trust as Deputy Director of Finance. Previously to this he worked at other NHS Acute providers including Leicester, Milton Keynes, Northamptonshire Healthcare and Hull, mainly in operational roles. Prior to joining the NHS over 4 years ago the majority of Kevin’s career was spent in the commercial sector at Finance Director level.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors and has an MBA from Nottingham Trent University.

Tim Farr

Back Up and Access Adventures

In March 2004, at the age of 21, Tim’s life changed in a second when he had a catastrophic spinal injury. While skiing on the university ski trip he over shot a landing on a jump shattering his lumber 1 vertebrae and was left paralysed in an instant.

Rather than let this affect him, Tim excelled in the face of adversity. After adapting to life in a wheelchair, and within a year of breaking his back, incredibly Tim was skiing again thanks to the support of the charity Back Up. He finished university, and went on to compete with the British Disabled Ski Team for 9 years at the highest level around the world, including competing at the Vancouver 2010 winter Paralympics. Injuries forced his retirement in 2014 just before the Sochi Paralympics.

He now works full time for Back Up, the charity that first supported him, and has founded Access Adventures to allow other people with physical disabilities to share his passion for extreme sports.

Ulrike Kreysa

Vice-President, Healthcare

GS1 Global Office

Ulrike Kreysa is responsible for the Healthcare sector at the GS1 Global Office in Brussels and works with her local colleagues and those in 112 countries across the world to develop and implement GS1 standards in the healthcare industry.

She manages GS1 Healthcare, the global GS1 user group, formed by the stakeholders in the healthcare supply chain, including pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, wholesalers/distributors, group purchasing organizations, hospitals, pharmacies, logistic providers, and governmental and regulatory bodies and associations, which has the mission to lead the Healthcare sector to the successful development and implementation of global standards. Worldwide patient safety and supply chain efficiencies will be enhanced worldwide through standards for AIDC (Automatic Identification and Data Capture), global data synchronisation, and traceability.

Before joining GS1 in October 2004, Mrs. Kreysa worked for three years at GHX Europe, where she held the position of Managing Director for Benelux and France. Having started her career as a pharmacist, she worked for multiple years in public pharmacies and for more than eleven years in the German University hospital of Aachen, where she held the post of Head of Supplies and coordination of group purchasing for NordRhine-Westfalen university hospitals in Germany.
