Charles-Edouard Escurat, Deputy Director General at Resah GPO in France, a key player in healthcare procurement in France, talked about the link between procurement and patient care.
Resah has focused on bringing efficiency and performance to hospitals through purchasing and logistics functions. Mr Escurat shared how Resah built a pilot project to demonstrate that GS1 standards can make the relationship between health institutions and suppliers more efficient by enabling electronic exchange of master data to populate e-catalogues.
Moving forward, Resah are planning to work on communication to enlist more suppliers to participate in the pilot, as well as integration of specific clauses relating to provision of master data in their procurement activities.
