Business Requirement Groups (BRG)
BarCodes & Identification BRG
Develops standards related to automatic identification and data capture (AIDC), GS1 Application Identification, GS1 bar codes, and other related and emerging technology

Data Accuracy BRG
Develops standards related to GDSN Package Measurement Rules and Tolerances

eCom BRG
Develops and maintains the business processes and associated data requirements used in transactional processes within the supply & demand chain. Also develops GS1 solutions using XML syntax and/or EANCOM (a subset of UN/EDIFACT, the international standard for Electronic Data Interchange).

Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) BRG
The GSMP managed GDSN BRG is a forum to identify specific barriers to implementation, necessary process updates for existing standards, standards enhancements (ex. develop validation rules and documentation updates), and to discuss changes to the GS1 Standards that affect the GDSN Community

Global Product Classification (GPC) BRG
Develops and maintains a global product classification system

Conformance & Certification Work Group
Develops business cases and recommendations for adding conformance and certification specifications on GS1 BarCodes and eCom areas

eCom Logistics Standards Work Group
Develops GS1 exchange standards based on the existing logistics related eCom standards (addressing both EANCOM® and GS1 XML). It will also investigate inclusion for solutions for the SME’s like XML-forms, eDocs, which are not yet part of the standard.

Enhanced Party Synchronisation Work Group
Standardizes the synchronisation of parties upon

EPCglobal Data Exchange Work Group
Analysis of EPCglobal Core Business Vocabulary for use within the EPCIS standard, which will provide a common set of terminology for secure exchange of EPC event information.

GDSN Maintenance Release Work Group
Scoped with building Business Message Standards (BMS) for approved Business Requirements from the GDSN BRG, creating efficiency and consistency between related GDSN Projects, and delivering the solutions for the various GDSN Maintenance Releases that update the Network with enhancements

Improves the infrastructure of the GDSN by developing a more flexible trade item (easier to implement and maintain for the users of the network)
