Josie King Foundation: creating a culture of patient safety

Sorrel King, mother, patient safety advocate and founder of the Josie King Foundation, concluded the conference by sharing the story of her daughter Josie, who died in 2001 from preventable medical errors.

Since that time, Sorrel has taken action through the Josie King Foundation with the mission to prevent patients from dying or being harmed by medical errors. Her inspirational presentation offered a reminder of the urgent need to create healthcare environments and processes where medical errors are no longer possible and where the focus remains on patients and their families.

By uniting manufacturers, regulators, healthcare providers and consumers, we can all create a culture of patient safety, together.
