Innovative Way to Improve E-Commerce Product Quality – Practice of Alibaba

Jessie Zheng was appointed as Chief Risk Officer of Alibaba Group in December 2017 responsible for data and information security across Alibaba platforms. She has also been the Chief Platform Governance Officer since December 2015, in charge of the governance of retail and wholesale marketplaces including but not limited to intellectual property right protection, product management, quality control, platform rules making.

She served as financial vice president of Alibaba,com from December 2010 to October 2013 and Deputy Chief Financial Officer of Alibaba Group from November 2013 to June 2016. Before joining Alibaba Group in 2010, she was an audit partner at KPMG.

She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northeastern University in China.

Walmart China Supply Chain Empowers Omni Channel New Retail Market - Evolution & Collaboration

In the fast changing and hero raising China retail market, the recent rise of e-commerce giants has shaken the traditional retail environment by its rapid growth and frequent innovation, seems to became the chosen one for the future. A single channel world is no longer sufficient to satisfy the tailored shopping experience. How do traditional retailers stay ahead in this New Retail era? Walmart China fundamentally changes how we define and structure our supply chain, to create a richer cross-channel retail experience and win future market by evergreen changing and win-win collaboration.

Bio:
Denny Yang is the Senior Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer for Walmart China. As an Executive Committee Member, Denny leads a strong supply chain team and a Business Process Reengineering team on continuous supply chain efficiency improvement, supply chain network and solution development based on current 20 Ambient, Fresh and Import Distribution Centers suppling to 400 plus stores and clubs everyday across the country, as well as business process reengineering and change driving throughout the value chain of the business and the whole organization in order to facilitate Walmart winning in the fast moving retail market in China.

Denny has over 20 years’ experience working in the retail, trading and distribution industries. Before joining Walmart, Denny was Associate President of Shanghai Tangjiu Group (SSCW), a company of Bright Food Group, a well-known state-owned holding company in food & beverage industry. Prior to that, Denny worked in Metro Cash & Carry China as the Head of Supply Chain Management & Logistics and in CHEP Asia as Strategy & Marketing Director. Denny has strong supply chain and strategy development experience in building supply chain excellence covering strategy & network design, logistics operations, supply chain optimization and collaboration, and procurement in China & Asia. He also successfully extended his experiences to international trading, business strategy & marketing, overseas M&A and general management of acquired businesses.

Denny has served as board director of ECR (Efficient Customer Response) China for 10 years from 2007 to 2017 and ECR Asia for 2 years from 2013-2015 working on facilitating logistics standardization, supply chain efficiency improvement, and collaboration across FMCG-retailer supply chain together with supply chain leaders and industry experts from leading retailers, FMCG companies, and consulting firms in China and Asia.

Denny holds a master degree from University of Sydney majoring in Logistics Management and a mater degree from Renmin University of China majoring in Commercial Enterprise Management. Prior to that, Denny graduated from Shanghai Institute of Building Material and has earned his bachelor of industrial engineering.

JD’s Blockchain Anti-fake and Traceability Platform realizes full link traceability of products from production to table based on blockchain technology. Video, anti-fake, and internet of things technologies are applied in the process, and the data is synchronizing with government regulatory authorities to endorse product quality and promote food safety innovation.

Bio:
Yuguang Han is a Senior Product Manager of Y Business Unit, responsible for supply chain management innovation. Mr. Han graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a Master of Science in Operation Research, and he also holds CPIM.

After joined JD.com, Mr. Han has been working on creating innovative and applicable smart supply chain products, such as the JD.com Block-chain Anti-counterfeiting and Tracing Platform, and the JD.com Operation Research and Optimization Platform. He initiated and led several innovative anti-counterfeiting and traceability projects in China based on block-chain, such as the commodity donation traceability project for JD Foundation(NGO), the agricultural products traceability project for government precision poverty reduction project, and the cross-border origin products traceability project, etc. Additionally, as the project manager of the Block-chain Food Safety Alliance on JD.com side, he was responsible for coordinating and leading the joint working team, including Walmart, IBM and Tsinghua University, to establish the alliance.

Professor at the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, obtained the Harvard MPA degree in 2001 and received the Harvard Kennedy School of Government Alumni Achievement Award in 2011.

Intern at the Carter Center in 2001, Also serving as member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC)since 2008, Member of the Standing Committee and head of the Liason Working Committee of The Central JiuSan Society, a democratic party founded in China in 1946, Executive member of All-China Women’s Federation, and founding member and vice chair of the UN CRPD Committee.

She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Northeastern University in China.
